ERG, a public opinion research company located in Mountain Home Idaho, called me up this evening. The survey was on the Seattle monorail. They actually asked some questions that were worth answering. One question was stupid but on the whole the questions were well thought. The questions were spread over a few specific topics. Is local traffic bad, is it getting worse, economic impacts; voting for monorail; monorail budget, schedule and revenue, local car owners purchasing licenses out of the ciy to evade the tax; monorail route; Seattle image, and finally several questions on how I get monorail news. The format for most of the questions was the "somewhat to strongly agree or disagree, for the last few questions I actually gave my opinion. That is a nice change.

At the end of the interview I asked where the person was calling from and he said Mt. Home, ID. I mentioned that I had been there in the 60's and he said that he was born on the Air Force base there.
