The employees of today are being put in the same place that the black population found themselves before the Equal Rights Bill was passed in 1974.

Well, both Bush and Cheney have come to Seattle and siphoned a couple of million dollars off into the insatiable maw of the Republican Party. The socially perveted who give to these abominable men are giving themselves a social hand job.

Yesterday, I purchased a specific pair of work shoes that I needed for some of the work I do at my job. Red Wing shoes have been around a long time and I have been wearing them just about as long. We went on a walk through downtown Seattle and could not find an outlet for Red Wings. We jumped in the car and went over to Bellevue to the store near where my office is located. I walked in and asked the saleman of twenty-seven years for a pair of work boots just like the ones that were on the display shelf. I had to change the style because they didn't make the kind I wanted anymore. It was on sale but was only available in size eight. I asked if I could get the old pair resoled, and was told that I could but it would really not be a good shoe when done as it was worn pretty bad. The salesman also said that it was his last day of work. Red Wing was buying back the franchise, terminating him and hiring a new salesperson with no experience, never sold a shoe in his life. This salesman had been working at the store for 27 years, was 61 years old, and was one of the top salesmen in the Northwest. He is a veteran, has a daughter and son in college, owns a home and motorhome, and is a very average taxpayer and comsumer. Now he is unemployed, will not be paying to the tax base, will not be buying a new motorhome, and will now be collecting unemployment instead of earning an income.

More profit to the owners of the Red Wing company, the ratio of wealth between labor and management is no longer in balance causing the rest of the taxpayers in Washington to carry the burden of medical insurance for the underemployed and unemployed which is now supplied by a smaller pool of tax money.

The vacancy rate for office space on the eastside is 26%. The school that I am going to has renogiated its lease and moved to an identical building but with a substantial reduction in cost. When you drive along Eastgate which runs parallel to I-90, there is a strip mall with only three business open.

"When the legend becomes fact, print the legend." Jimmy Stewart, "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence", Apparently, the veneer of civilization is pretty thin....,Quoted from John Ford's exceptional movie.

John Ford was able to call upon the greatest actors of the times to direct a social commentary on the maturing process of the United States not since accomplished by any other director. Where there somebody available to do this same type of movie today? Where are the actors, where is the theater that would show it....
