It was a great year, and now for an even better one.

We're looking out our fifth floor window at Denney Way. The police have Denny Way blocked at First Avenue and at Broad Street. They are investigating an accident which involves a bicyclist and a car. The bike is laying in the street and the ambulances pulled away without a siren. The bicycle is still in the street, helmet, shoes, coat and nothing else. I hope the cyclist is going to be able to get better.

Update

We walked to the store for some New Years ice cream, we crossed Denny Way and I asked the patrolman diverting traffic down 1st Avenue if the accident was a fatality, he affirmed my question. The bicylist is not going to get better, but we are thinking of him. The unknown cyclist is now immortal on the Internet.

Now that's what I call a 2003! It was warmer for more days in a row than we can remember, it was the wettest March on record, there is a war, there is the biggest deficit ever thanks to Bush the Lesser, whoeee, hope 2004 is just normal, whatever that is.
