This Morning, 25 years old today. I think back on all the television I have watched over the past 50 years or so and there are a few that stay in my mind. Steve Allen, Sid Ceasar, Omnibus, Chet and David, Edward R. Murrow, JFK, Bob Hope, MTV, Wunda Wunda, Mickey Mouse Club, 60 minutes, Milton Berle, Super Bowl I, Viet Nam, Korea, Iraq, 9/11, MASH, Chicago Democratic Convention, McCarthy, Rosa Parks... We all watch television and there have been many stories of profound sorrow, great achievement and exemplory performances over the past. Now I watch television on a Sony Wega that has an HDTV picture received on a cable that has a picture and sound quality behond any that could be imagined back in 1950. There is a great conumdrun in television. Today television is the front row seat at one of those "Jerry Springer Shows". The quality of the prime hours of television has eroded to rust. It's too bad the quality of television performance has developed inversly to the quality of the television.
