Anna Lindh Dies from Stab Wounds
Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh died early Thursday morning, after prolonged surgery, from severe internal bleeding and injuries to her liver. Lindh was stabbed while shopping at a downtown Stockkholm department store Wednesday afternoon.

On the eve of the anniversary of the September 11th attacks in the United States, speaking at the Olof Palme International Center Ken Roth, head of Human Rights Watch said that terrorism has been a double challenge for human rights and justice. Thursday is also the 30th anniversary of the military coup in Chile, and the Palme Center is holding a seminar, among the participants some of the many refugees from Chile who fled here after the coup.
Coverage of Iraq War Balanced
The Swedish Emergency Management Agency says media coverage here of the war in Iraq was not especially favorable to the United States, but it was balanced.
Protest Against Iceland s Whaling
On Wednesday Sweden and 22 other countries made a formal protest against Iceland s decision to resume whaling.
Sweden in Euro 2004 Finals
Sweden advanced to the finals of the 2004 European soccer championships Wednesday with a 2-0 away win over Poland.
