Segways May Become War Machines. A Pentagon program drafts inventor Dean Kamen's self-balancing scooters, hoping to create an army of battlefield helpers capable of transporting injured troops and hauling soldiers' gear. [Wired News]
How long before they fit a Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW) to one of these bad boys? There's nothing I can think that would strike more fear into me than a Dean Kamen designed robotic autonomous light machine gun. That thing would WORK every time and YOU know it! It's just a matter of time before it happens.

A Bulge in Misses 8? Digital Scanners Resize America. A project that made body scans of 10,800 people may cause upheaval in the fashion world. By Marcia Biederman. [New York Times: Technology]
The women that I work with, Pam in particular has mentioned that in certain high end shopping stores the sizes are mislabeled. And because women are socialized to try on all the clothes that they buy before they buy them, Pam discovered the Rich Women clothing store size 8 what was more like a size 10 at Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, Kmart, etc. This is a phenomenon that was meant to hide the fact that we're all getting fatter each passing day. Men and women both are leading sedentary lifestyles that are killing them a little bit each day.
