Whatever happened to the Windows Media Center?. Exclusive Back to the drawing board [The Register]
It's funny how fast M$oft champions a new paradigm shift only to dump it in the trash when the sparkly-ness of it wears off. I remember reading tons of articles on Mira. I attended an XP roll out here in town at a convention center. The M$oft wags all talked about Mira and the Tablet PC and how the computer as we know it was an old idea. Now, it appears, all the gurus that promoted these ideas have fallen by the wayside. Serves everyone right for not questioning these projects from the GET GO!

Report: Xserve. tip for recovering from Security Update 2003-12-19 problem, more major quality issues [MacInTouch]
I ran this same update on our XServe which I upgraded just before Christmas to 10.3.2. I did it from home on the command line and the machine never came back up. The following Monday I went and looked at it in the rack. It was running, but I couldn't get the KVM to show me what was on the screen. So I held the power button in and let it power cycle. It came up all on it's own and has appeared to be okay since that time.
