CBS Shields Pigskin Fans From Ads. The network refuses to run Super Bowl ads submitted by MoveOn.org and PETA, saying it has a policy against accepting advocacy advertising. Or maybe it just doesn't like the image of jiggly women rejecting a meat-eatin' man. [Wired News]
I think Adbusters proved that CNN is guilty of this bias as well when it wanted to air its own position ads. They had the money in hand and they turned it down outright. This is capitalism? This is a market economy? I thought if you owned the capital you had all the rights of a capital owner. But it appears they answer to a higher calling, a Republican owned and run FCC who dare not tickle the tale of Michael Powell's dragon.
