Panasonic preps 1GB Secure Digital card. The electronics maker plans to launch a 1GB Secure Digital card first in Japan in April, then worldwide in May. [CNET News.com]

In the never ending race to make storage smaller, this announcement reigns as an all time benchmark, sign post of just how crazy small is. An SD card is roughly the size of a postage stamp. IBM once reigned supreme with their wildly over the top 1GB microdrive which is almost for times bigger than SD. My god, 1GB is big enough to hold a whole operating system plus virtual memory and some data. Just add a cpu, display and keyboard and go!

Just posted! Sigma SD10 review. Just posted! Our full in-depth review of Sigma's new SD10 digital SLR. The SD10 is the successor to the SD9, it features a new and updated 10M X3 Foveon sensor which achieves higher sensitivity thanks to the addition of microlenses. There are also numerous other improvements to both the camera and Photo Pro RAW conversion software. See how the SD10 performed and how it stacks up to the current six megapixel digital SLR's. Foveon strikes again! Carver Meade is still a genius and he will show those CCD guys a thing or two in the near future. With the low volumes they are selling they should try to get a digital cinema manufacturer to take them on, and just get more exposure for their product. I swear they are equal to CCD's at every step and just look sharper than a CCD image at the same resolution.

Further proof that the Mac gives everyone a sense of security, especially those that are in the know. I've seen more indications that the Linux folks love Mac OS X. And this article explains even further some of the draw. You want a Unix, you want a laptop, get an Apple. It's that simple.
