Sulphur fuels battery breakthrough. Queue here for Li-S By Andrew Orlowski . [The Register]
This is news to me. I didn't know anyone was still working on improving the old Lithium Ion technology. Kind of cool to know there's still room for improvement. Lithium Sulfur is about 2X better than the current top of the line Lithium Polymer technology. And it can go through about 300 full discharges before it's ruined. I don't know how much impact fuel cells will have in the immediate future, hopefully it will also be 2X better than Lithium Sulfur batteries.
