Beagle is experiencing a renaissance for sure, after a dark, boring adolescence, and just about everything he turns his hand to generates money, like the blue movies he makes with the girls from Mrs. Montoya's and sends out across the country with the Travelling Salesmen. When Cassie dies she's out somewhere with Beagle making a blue movie. Cassie turning up dead makes Owen Bright think someone's sending him a message because Cassie's his girl and Owen is so innocent he can't see that Cassie's anybody's girl. Owen meets Cassie in a railway compartment and Cassie is wearing a hat and gloves and is reading a book in French and Owen is unsophisticated and unable to couple those characteristics to a perverse and omniverous sexual drive. To Owen Cassie represents Quality. Owen will kill Mr. Jones, the doorman at Mrs. Montoya's. Mrs. Montoya will try to shoot Owen in retaliation but the gun misfires. To stop her from trying again Koo's gonna cut Owen's throat. And then the electric lap guitar Sloane Nibley built will send Koo to the Ether on Christmas Eve 1933 during the Dr. Bienke Christmas Show. The sound of Koo dying is the most popular sound that has ever sounded. The secret of time travel is you have to be very small. Most of the civilizations that have ever existed hover in the crying electric shriek of Koo's private burning.
