Sick/from/everyone
{memory of adam greene (sp?) manager of aquavit expressing some confusion as to the inclusion of the genesis reviews in american psycho "they seem incongruent" every thing else sufficiently reasonable. adam's a manhattan boy. survived always among suits.}
[working some liberal organisation's think tank dinner: "what's your name?" the host calls. "quin." "you know there's a bob dylan song about quin?" he says. i say yeah. he turns his face to beam at his guests: "bob dylan. my man bob!"
my man bob?]
punk was mostly a literary revolt if you will allow that a photograph is a literary device but then is a photograph somehow more 'wordy' that a painting? you could retrieve punk from the music papers which meant it was priced down where i could get it.
// Koo reads the dashiell hammett story about the guy who was always scared of guns until he got shot and then he realized it wasn't nothing getting shot and he was ready to take on in the whole world whoever had fucked with him, oh there was killing to be done, except there's sort of the implication that he dies. koo reads that story in the room of the centralia washington whorehouse where my daddy will die sixty odd years later and the girl koo's with has a new bob and white skin perpetually marked where her stockings ride her thighs. koo reads and smokes and the girl plays with her new hair waiting for koo to get interested again. all of this i saw on the cover of an erskine caldwell book i found the year i got married.
// Punk was mostly a literary revolt. the object of literature is mostly poetry. the object of poetry the transmutation of shit into gold.
