oh hell it may not be any good but don't tell me it ain't curious. 2 songs for jim and melanie:

i've been meaning to call, just about every day/ but there's a hole in the door knob where the time slips away./

sometimes i'm crazy, and mostly i'm sad/ but there's a bottle in the freezer gonna make it seem not so bad./

and while nothing ever lasts/ don't twenty years get by fast?/

and now you got them babies getting old enough to hear/ them dirty songs ain't for children's ears./

you wanna keep it real?/ children, free and untamed?/ you gotta play a little every day/ keep up on your game./

and nothing ever lasts/ but twenty years get by fast./

there's always some sick president/ and his goony warlords weirdly hellbent/ but love is an experiment/ in getting better./ wetter and wetter./ bring on the storm/ bring the hurricane/ i think i know players who can sing in the rain./

gonna go down to redland/ buy myself a drive-in/ have myself a festival./

gonna play some honky tonk/ suck a little plonk/ i got some ill rhymes children and some just plain wonk./

or maybe i die first.../

nothing ever lasts/ but don't twenty years get by fast?

and then this one just sort of fell out of the leftover rhymes and riffs the bicycle built for two tune:

baby, baby, i'm gonna tell you true/ i gotta push on and i'm a taking you./ people gonna squawk/ fuck the way they talk/ you got boots were made for walk.

gonna walk you downtown/ walk you all around/ some hot little spots i know.

gonna walk you to the park/ where after dark/ them dirty teddy bears put on a show.

wo (whoa. woe.)

baby, baby, lemme make it clear/ there's no future wheeling about here./ people gonna squawk/ fuck the way they talk/ you got boots they made for walk.
