A reader writes:
Why is it that one of the most obvious engineering flaws in the history of computing has yet to be fixed? I'm talking about the placement of the eject buttons on personal computer CDROM, DVD and even floppy drives. It is always placed underneath the tray (or disc slot) instead of at the top of the drive, where it belongs. Whenever the tray (or disc) is ejected, the button is obscured. It doesn't matter if you have a desktop, tower or anything in-between, you always have to feel around for the stupid button. You would think that by now someone would have fixed this annoyance.
