A worker at Waterstone's Books in Edinburgh was fired last week for referring to his Evil Boss at Bastardstone's in postings to his blog, reports The Guardian. Judging from the story, I am hopeful that this is likely to get resolved quickly, with Joe Gordon's union and some in the literary community already rising to his defense. That tide is likely to get larger in the coming days. Unfortunately, you can't email Waterstone's management: Their website is managed by (the notoriously anti-union) Amazon.com. But you can easily read much at Joe's blog, The Woolamaloo Gazette (not so surprisingly the #1 slot on Google for 'Woolamaloo' right now). Thanks to LabourStart for the pointer.
