Greetings to those who have stopped by over the weekend from PlanetSUSE.org. I am pleased to have joined this community as a contributor, not just a reader.
Those new readers may have been a little disappointed, as Notes from the Metaverse has been on something of a hiatus while I've been hard at work finishing what is now called SUSE Linux 10 Unleashed.
That project is now complete, and should be on the shelves of your
favorite computer-book outlet (of course, you can pre-order it now at
Powells, or at Amazon,
as long as you promise to ignore the truly awful "About the Author"
blurb) on or about the release date of SUSE Linux 10, the first release
overseen by the OpenSUSE.org community. If you haven't yet checked this out, now is the perfect time, as Release Candidate 1 has now been out for a few days. The FTP servers should be less taxed, and the BitTorrent seed base should be optimal.
Things should be a bit more active around here for awhile. I'll be
sharing my experiences as a SUSE 10 user (and want to hear your
experiences, too) and doing the usual commentary on many interesting
things.
