Motorola building dual-core G4 processor [The Macintosh News Network]

Between dual-core G4s, the 7457, and the IBM PPC970 rumors, the second half of this year should prove to be very interesting for current and future Mac users.

Apple confirms meeting with indie record companies. Apple is preparing to extend its iTunes Music Store beyond just the "big five" record companies now represented. MacCentral confirmed that Apple is hosting a meeting on Thursday with independent record labels to discuss their involvement in the future of the service. [MacCentral]

Getting the independent labels on iTMS would be great addition to the service.  Also, Apple is in talks to have iTMS content made available through Amazon.
