2 days to go
Well, I succumbed today. And not just to the heat. I paid up £30 for my Setanta season ticket, so now I will be able to watch Celtic's first league game of the season at East End Park on Saturday.
In an unrelated incident, some children in Berkshire have come up with an interesting theory that the record temperatures are causing money to evaporate from their piggy banks.

Saturday's game will be the last one on grass at Dunfermline for the foreseeable future. After the game the pitch will be dug up and a new plastic pitch installed. Dunfermline's new sponsor Subbuteo will also be providing a special all-in-one disk shaped boot for each of the players.

| In an effort to dispel the bad feeling between the two clubs after last season's final day antics, Dunfermline father-figure Jimmy Calderwood will be providing free drinks for Celtic players at Saturday's game. |

Aberdeen's new Aussie star Bruce Zdrilic is showing his team-mates the power of positive thinking by insisting that Aberdeen's 5-1 defeat against Liverpool was actually a good performance and bodes well for the future. He feels that if they can play to this level again on Saturday, they may hold Hearts to just 3 goals.
But you have to ask - is this positive thinking or blind optimism?
