SPL 2003

And so another season kicks off at last.
  SPL headlines

Who will be SPL champions this time? Well, with the odds on anyone outside the Old Firm winning currently at an incredible 125-1, it's basically a toss of the coin.

I watched the Celtic game on Setanta. They seemed to have quite a few sound problems and it was six minutes into the game before I got any commentary. But it was great to be able to see the match.

Dunfermline played well. They were well organised at the back and also created a number of good chances. The Celtic perfomance was not so admirable. And it's not just because of Didier Agathe's disgraceful pre-match comments that I feel the team didn't really seem up for it.

No wonder the league is "not very exciting" Didier when you spend 90 minutes on the wing without touching the ball. And there were a few others who didn't seem to be giving their all. Maybe it's the weather.

Rangers seemed to be able to generate their own excitement with a 4-0 win over Kilmarnock. But then, Kilmarnock were obviously lying down for the champions.

 Celtic's season
Despite today's bad start, I feel (and hope) that this is going to be Celtic's season. And a couple of new players with some creative flair would really seal it.

At the other end of the table, I am praying, rain-dancing and moon-worshipping for Motherwell to go down and to be replaced by Falkirk.

Justice must be seen to be done.
