First Amendment of the Bill of Rights: "Congress shall make no law ... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." The Bush regime is trying to curtail the freedom of Americans (and the rest of the world). But by now more than 219 cities, counties and three states (Alaska, Vermont and Hawaii) have passed resolutions to restate the intent of the above Bill of Rights against the edicts of the USA Patriot Act and other regulations. In October a conference was held.
The Center For Constitutional Rights has documented several cases of abuse by the Bush clique. The ACLU is active in this field, also the Center For Democracy and Technology, the Electronic Privacy Information Center and the National Consumer Coalition's Privacy Group.
