[From: Ernie the Attorney]

A New Orleans Hot Spot That's Worth Visiting. Coop's Place is a typical French Quarter Bar, with decent food and good jukebox music (Louis Prima is playing right now).  But it has something extra: free wireless.  I'm sitting at a table by the entrance eating a late lunch, and having an Abita Amber and marvelling that I have finally managed to find a hot spot that is worth visiting.

I'm adding it to my list of New Orleans Hot Spots (over on the link list on the left side of this blog).  God, I love Wi-Fi.

PS - I just talked to the lady that runs the place and she said they've had the Wi-Fi for about a year (a Macintosh afficiando set it up for her).  She said that since the article in the local paper came out (which I wrote about here) they've had a significant upturn in business.  I love it.

browsing with SkweezerAt first glance, Skweezer looks like something similar to the ThunderHawk PPC browser and server, but a whole lot cheaper. I may have to download the 30 day free trial and check out how well it really works. If anyone reading this does so, please let me know what you think of it.

Follow up information: I tried it, and I'm not that impressed. It doesn't seem to work much better than NetFront3 and it's almost as slow. ThunderHawk is still the best PPC browser I've found.

TechTV has a review of the WiFi and Bluetooth equipped HP iPAQ 5450 that's low-key, but really quite unfavorable.

Looks like the legendary YOYP, a Korean Linux-based PDA, may finally become real. The 3700 comes with WiFi.
