I'm in the McDonald's in Tinton Falls, NJ right now. It's the site of one of the new McD Wireless WiFi hot spots that McDonald's is now rolling out. The restaurant is literally covered with signs advertising the service, which is free for the month of August. Connecting was a breeze, just clicking a checkbox saying I'd read and agreed with their terms of service. This email is being sent from my Toshiba e740 over their WiFi hot spot while I'm sipping a cup of coffee. McDonald's looks to be doing a first-rate job rolling out this new service. It will $2.99 per hour after this month.

Looks like SBC will be making a big move into the WiFi hot spot market. SBC operates in thirteen states: California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.
