Foundry readying WLAN assault, 08/25/03
Foundry Networks plans to go beyond its copper/fiber roots next
month when it launches enterprise wireless LAN access points,
supporting several 802.11 flavors with features such as Power
over Ethernet and 802.1x security.

and one indicates a $1.6 billion market expected for this
year, which will grow 100% by 2006.

Netgear Using Super G and A/G
The company announced today that it's shipping new 802.11g products and upgrades for
dual-band products that will use the speed boosts -- supposedly up to 108Mbps -- available
from the latest generation of Atheros chipsets.

Intel Says, Let Them Eat Wi-Fi (for a day). Intel sponsors free Wi-Fi day on Sept. 25 in the U.S.: This was rumored a few weeks ago, but I didn't have confirmation of the fact that Intel was sponsoring this day. It's a great idea: give everyone a taste for free, and you might raise the level of use by a consistent percentage point.
