St Kilda coach Grant Thomas has labelled his side’s 42-point loss to lowly Melbourne as its worst this season. “The game was there to be won today, and if we were serious about our goals and our beliefs and our moving forward as a club, it was set up for us today and we failed,” Thomas said. [FULL STORY]

Neitz fires Demons resurrection

A devastating six minute burst by a Melbourne side fighting to regain its respect following five straight losses may well have put paid to St Kilda’s finals hopes for yet another year. The Saints had no answer to the dominance of Melbourne skipper David Neitz, who produced the type of character-filled performance that showed just why he is the leader of his club.

Dees power past Saints
Sportal
Melbourne has swept to its first victory since round seven, defeating a disappointing St Kilda by 42 points at the MCG.

With Coleman Medallist David Neitz at his best up forward with seven goals, Melbourne was able to play direct football to maximum effect. After the scores were level at half time, the Demons kicked 13.4 to 6.4 in the second half to take win number four for 2003, 21.10 to 14.10.

a weekend without football!

this has been a difficult weekend for me.

no afl.

none of my beloved saints playing.

i've had to spend time with the family

we've queued up for the new harry potter book on Saturday (which was also the shortest day of the year) and then we hung out at the local malls.

we played putt-putt golf on Sunday and then came home to some chores

almost over... be strong frank.. remember he's only 3!!!

Longest day or the Shortest Day??
June 21 is the 172nd day of the year (173rd in leap years) in the Gregorian Calendar, with 193 days remaining. June 21 is the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere, so today is the day of the year with the longest hours of daylight in the northern hemisphere, and the shortest in the southern hemisphereFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I live in the southern hemisphere, so June 21 was the shortest day. Ahh June 21, how you went by so fast...
