We went see Elvis Costello at the Sydney Opera House and missed Game 6 and Talking Boony's shannanigans The kids made some notes which I just found.

We went to see Elvis Costello play with the Sydney Symphony at the Sydney Opera House.

Again, he rocked.

I am always amazed by the Sydney Opera House whenever I go there. it is a truly amazing piece of architecture. We are so lucky to have this beautiful building in our own back yard.

Anyways, the concert was great. the first part was a performance from Il Sogno, which was was written for the Italian Dance Company, Aterballetto, for their adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  The second part Elvis performs compositions that he has arranged for orchestra, together with songs arranged by Burt Bacharach, Bill Frisell, Steve Nieve and Vince Mendoza. It was amazing.

I went out to see Elvis Costello at the State Theare last night as part of the Sydney Festival.

He rocked.

The show started at 8pm. Elvis came out, grabbed a guitar and started to play. He was later joined on stage by Steve Nieve who played the piano, then later another dude came out to play bass.

At 10pm, he stopped playing and then a series of encores saw him wrap up at 10.30pm.

Overall, it was great, but I was disappointed he didn't do his signature songs, such as Pump It Up, Oliver's Army, A Good Year For The Roses, etc.

I'm off to see him on Tuesday at the Opera House with the Sydney Symphony.

Last year, there was a huge kerfufal around a clever ad campaign for lamb. 

This year there is a new ad and a lot more kerfufal, includng a vote by the Australian Standards Bureau

Some people really have no sense of humour - how unaustralian! I know that we will be eating lamb on Australia Day.

The first of the VB Series was played on Friday, and Talking Boony joined in the fun.

Talking Boony spoke before the game started, when the TV wasn't even on, so I suspect it has a timer chip in it and a bunch of progammed times to speak. Another dude noticed this too, as he had  his Boony at work. 

I purchased my Talking Boony on EBay and I got it just in time earlier this week.

Rob Irwin was wondering if anyone had hacked Talking Boony and an enterprising fellow even opened him up to investigate. So far the secret is still "out there"

Game 2 starts later today - I wonder what words of wisdom will come from Talking Boony today. I'm going to note the time he says stuff this time.
