It's great to see support for a national broadband policy coming from either presidential candidate. Now let's see if we can get them BOTH engaged in attacking this critical national issue so we can stop waiting around for the phone companies to do something. According to a Kerry-Edwards press release from Friday, their plans to "fight for American jobs" includes points to "invest in the jobs of the future" with point number one to "Move toward universal broadband access." They claim that the U.S. has fallen from 4th to 10th in broadband adoption, and have lost more than 1 million high tech jobs. The candidates promise to '... fight for a national broadband policy – including a broadband deployment tax credit – that will speed the deployment of this essential infrastructure.'
