It's a Beach Day . . .

Well, at least inside. Yes, I know, outside right now it looks like another blizzard, and we might get as much as eight more inches, but inside Celia's classroom today it was very much summer. It was hot, all the kids were wearing their bathing suits and Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses, there was a big plastic pool with pretend water and beach sand and beach toys and . . . well, all the usual summer things. No, they didn't move class 2000 miles south to Florida or anything -- it's just that her class is exploring a different season every day this week and today was, of course, summer. So cool. Or hot. Or whatever. The big, preschool kids get to have all the fun. The best I get is pajama day, which is tomorrow in my toddler classroom. Sounds a lot like home to me!
