Is the existence of WMD a matter of faith?
I listened to a broadcast of the joint appearance of President Bush and Prime Minister Blair before the US congress yesterday. Both of them consistently maintained that weapons of mass destruction will be found in Iraq. If the evidence had been so clear and compelling, why was it necessary to resort to the inclusion of the uranium claim that was not considered credible? Why have we found nothing to support the claims? And these claims were very specific that significant quantities existed. Read John Deans recap of these claims and his assessment of the situation.
As I recall the speeches, both men used the word "believe" frequently when talking about weapons of mass destruction. the existence of weapons of mass destruction should be a matter of fact not a matter of faith. I for one, do not want my country going to war based on mere "belief" dressed up with bogus "evidence".
