Angry Mac User Speaks Out This post is a forward from several different blogs but will get you to a pretty funny look at Mac problems. As someone who used Wintels for many years then decided to give the Mac a try, I sympathize. I can relate to the disappearing software. With windows, at least you get a error message - blahblahblah.exe cause a fatal exception blahblahblah. On the Mac, the software will sometimes simply disappear. All you can do is say to yourself "OK, I guess we're not doing that anymore" Click on the word "hillarious" [sic] to go directly to the parody site. Also, feel free to visit the Sexy Magick web log - that's where I found this post. I can't say anything about Adam Curry's web log (also a link - its where sexy magick found the post) I don't know who Adam Curry is - but - a lot of people subscribe to that blog. __________ windows rules!. This is why Windows rules!! This is hillarious.. crash different. I love my Mac so much that I'm happy to share this hillarious anti-mac clip. OpenOffice for the Mac will have to wait.
This article is from MacCentral. I have downloaded the Open Office and X11 windows interface to see how this works. Will give and update on that at some time in the future. OpenOffice is a OpenSource project. It is an "Office" suite of software available for free. The idea would seem to me to be a good alternative for those who could not shell out the major bucks for a commercial "office" type suite. It is currently up and running for Wintel machines, Mac users must run it with X11, which is also free. _____ Mac OS X-native OpenOffice delayed until 2006. If you've been awaiting a Mac OS X-native version of OpenOffice, be patient: the estimated time of arrival has been pushed back to the first quarter of 2006. OpenOffice is an open-source version of what was once StarOffice, Sun's application suite. OpenOffice runs on Mac OS X systems now, but requires an X11 windowing interface to work, like Apple's own X11 for Mac OS X. Some users are waiting for a Mac OS X-native version of the productivity software suite, instead. [MacCentral] 2:32:44 PM |

New Feature Well, my airplane geek is showing. There is now a random picture from airliners.net under the "links" section on the right. Everytime you update my web log, you should get a new picture. Cool. Need to figure out how to make it fit on the right margin better.
Also, I found out my link to NYCSubway.org was wrong, that is now fixed. Check out all the information you could ever want to now about the New York City Subway. I think the person(s) behind this site should win an award. I wish there were more sites like this for different subjects. |

I'm Back Well, you thought I had gone. Nope, just took a little break. I have a lot of changes I need to implement and am going to start work on those right away. Sorry to have not been updating, I have really missed it.

How did I make that pork roast?
Recently I helped someone throw a party. Well, ok I really didn't help that much other than to help drink all of the Gin. But, aside from Gin drinking, I prepared a little food, one item being a pork roast. Because there were many comments, some of which were positive, and requests for the recipe, I'll give it a shot. This story is a little long to post on the front page Click Here to read the entire recipe. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by

Attention RaleighPost Fans Sorry for the lack of post. Summer travel season. I have been away for awhile and will need to get back out of town again. I going to post a few things tonight. then I will be back no later than Tuesday. It has been a fun but rough few days, lots of driving. But got to spend some Q time with Mrs. TightYankee and Owslafa. I went to a party and met somebody that now has the nickname Ida Node. Basically this stems from the fact that this person told me, "If Ida node you wuz goin' to be drinkin' my beer, Ida got more" ----> now the nickname Ida Node. Hey, its only in fun. I have been informed by many that I need to do more proof reading. I'll try. Thanks for stopping by.

Userland Blogging made fun
Here is an interesting link for users of Userland. Be careful, though, some of the fun little icons are links to stories you may not want to have on your blog. On the other hand, you may want the story!!!
Found something interesting today, userland global shortcuts. I always wondered how they got the little sidesmiley face to show up at the end of posts, if you type this ";->" then this shows up ";->" now why didn't this work? hmmm.. [SexyMagick] 4:28:44 PM |

Open Office
How about some free software. If you are in need of a office style suite of software, like Word, and Excel, but, don't want to spend the major bucks, then you may be interested in OpenOffice. Click Here to goto the OpenOffice. It is completely free and offers a Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Draw and Presentation program. I know it is ready for the Wintel machines, not sure if it is ready for the Mac OS X. Somebody give it a try and let me know. Also, is this answering the question, What Happened to WordStar?
