Well, they did it! The boys from Campbellsport, Wisconsin set a
new world record with a 48-foot bratwurst. I'm a little lax in
getting this posted, but here ya go anyway. Read all about it on
the Campbellsport website. You can also Google Campbellsport world record brat and find a bunch of stories on the super sausage from Fond du Lac County. Only in Wisconsin, hey!

If you liked the blog entry I posted in "On the Road"
back on June 25, then you'll want to read my story on that trip in the
latest Wisconsin Outdoor News. It's the center spread story, with
several color photos. In a few days, you might find it posted on
the WON website, but for
now, you'll have to pick up a copy at your favorite newsstand, or
borrow one from your buddy who subscribes. You know, if you had
your own subscription, you could have read it by now!

Here's an invitation from Gary Martin, editor of Wishigan Outdoors.
If you're not familiar with Wishigan, it's a monthly publication that
features hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities in northeast
Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula (Da U.P., home of Da
Yoopers). Gary was top gun at a recent shoot, but he claims that
was a fluke. Still, when you break 45 out of 50 birds, you're
doing something right!
Anyway, here's Gary's message to Wishigan readers, which he said I may
share with you. Wouldn't it be fun if a coupla hundred shooters
showed up for this event on Saturday! If you go, tell 'em where
you heard about it. If you have any questions about the event, log onto the Triple J website and give them a call.

Hello Wishigan Readers,
If you don't exercise it, it gets flabby! With that in
mind, I want to invite everyone out to Triple J Sporting Clays (5 miles west of
I-43 on highway K in Manitowoc County) this Saturday, July 17, 2004 for a Ducks
Unlimited 50-target fun shoot. Come and exercise your Second Amendment rights!
The round of clays is $15 and there is a $5 Lewis Purse
option, so anyone might win. Shoot all you want, all you can, in fact, you're
welcome to shoot until you drop. Joe Schmatz, Triple J's owner, informs me he
will have one of his famous flurry shoots too. Come see how your speed and
accuracy match up against me and some of the local top guns. (I'm shooting
poorly of late... so now's your chance!)
Prizes are food will be available too.
See You There!
