So Michael Savage thinks that he was "setup [sic]" when a caller baited him and he responded with a homophobic screed that got him jettisoned from his MSNBC cable spot? I find it interesting that someone who bellows about personal responsibility and the inherent evil of entire classes of people - get rid of the liberals, blockade the borders and turn those aliens back - might realize that if you apply standards to someone else, they may come back to haunt you. Claiming that he thought he was off the air sounds like something a child would say when trying to avoid punishment. But surely someone espousing conservative views understands that personal responsibility is not something to be conveniently applied. If background and cultural setting shouldn't matter, why should being razzed? Why must everything come down to an external plot: "a setup to destroy me in television orchestrated by unknown interests?" He provides a link to a story about the crank caller - hardly an unknown interest. Any competent media host should have been able handle the person. But perhaps Savage - or whatever his real name is, as he changed it for radio - thinks that conservative media hosts should be held to a different standard - a lower one.
