The state of the polls. Divergent results, divergent methods, divergent analysis. It is getting tougher to do a poll. For example, if we let a telephone answering device screen our calls, we may not be includedable. This tends to cut down the sampling of the urban sophisticate voter, as does the use of unpollable cell phones.
What I notice is that the stories carried by the normal press, even fox, are increasingl critical of Bush, and in conservative parts of the countr I see reports of few Bush/Cheney bumper stickers and significant numbers of Kerry. The polls can help but also obscure. Trends within a consistent methodolog are the best indicators.
