I went to Pittsburgh for the first time ever this weekend. Way cuter than I expected it to be. Not really a town of pretty people, but the bars were fun and they had GREAT pizza available at 2 AM...and cabs for the ride home. :)
I enjoyed all of the driving. I hadn't taken a road trip in a bit and I enjoyed the alone time to sing and admire fall taking place around me.
And I finished Kite Runner. I don't have it with me, or I'd reprint my favorite part. It was a sad tale that makes you reflective of life and the effects of choices. The hugeness of the impact of small things. It was really lovely.
I have been plowing through books lately. I've read three full-sized books in the past two weeks. Bastard out of Carolina. Gap Creek. And now Kite Runner. I can't remember the name of the book I started last night.
I did sleep 10 hours last night. And my body appreciated it.
I'm homesick. Maybe that's something we never outgrow.
