Lawmakers want probe of chem-bio weapons tests to continue

What's interesting about this article is that from 1962 until 1973, the USG tested chemical/biological weapons on members of the U.S. Armed Forces without their knowledge - and here's the good part; the tests were conducted so as to test the combat capabilities of biological and chemical agents and ways to protect U.S. troops from such attacks. So what we have here is that technically the United States Government attacked members of the United States Armed Forces with chemical and biological weapons unbeknownst to them. The government then covered everything up, lied about it and classified it. Meanwhile, those unfortunate souls who were used as guinea pigs by the USG were slowly becoming ill with an array of cancers and other illnesses. It is now estimated that 5,842 US servicemen were used in these tests. An inquiry began three years ago, after several Navy veterans reported health problems they believed might be caused by their involvement in the tests. Research into the classified project found more tests and many more veterans present, expanding the scope of the investigation. However, the very honorable Department of Defense has decided to close the investigation! Isn't that convenient? See this article for more information.
