Web Service Offerings Language = SOAP + Composition Filters? Here's another group making the connection between Web Services, SOAP intermediaries, and "separation of concerns", aspect-oriented programming (AOP), etc. Although I only stumbled across it recently, research on "composition filters" as a model for aspect-oriented separation of concerns is over a decade old.
