Robert Scoble comments that MSN Spaces has 1.5 million "bloggers"/users. How many of them are getting the "complete blogging experience" and using an RSS aggregator to view and/or determine when other MSN Spaces(and non Spaces weblogs) change? My guess is a very, very small percentage. I am guessing also that a very high percentage rate of abandoned blogs are going to result as the feeling of community will not be there for many of these bloggers. To have a discussion via a weblog it requires that you both write and read and quote others.
Nowhere is the information about aggregations/RSS/syndication readily available to newbies in a useable succinct, straightforward manner.
Unless MSN Spaces does something about this and quickly (build in an aggregator would be my suggestion), I predict MSN Spaces will become more MSN/Microsoft community roadkill.
P.S.
5 minutes after I posted "MSN Spaces to become community roadkill?" I saw that MSN is introducing an RSS reader this week. If they do a good job of cross referencing MSN Spaces and this aggregator my concerns will have been ill founded.
If I had looked at Robert's post closely I would have noticed that he talks about the RSS reader as well. (or maybe he added this to the post later?)
