So Live Mail has a mechanism for blocking mail from certain senders. But it won't let you block mail apparently from your email address. So spammers are now exploiting that "hole" -- pretending to send from you to you to get crap through.
I am not sure why the restriction exists. I rarely (if ever) send mail from my hotmail account to myself though admittedly some people use this mechanism.
Grrrr.
