It turns out is as borked as Skype, alternately displaying semi-legitimate pages, pages with a sleeping cat saying Twitter is asleep for an hour, 404 errors and pages indicating a problem that engineers have been informed about. I thought these were world class services -- obviously not. 4:00:38 PM        comment []    Skype problems Hmm -- it seems like Skype has gone tits up. The client is in a continual "Skype (connecting)" state and has been for an hour or so. From the Skype status page: UPDATED 14:02 GMT: Some of you may be having problems logging into Skype. Our engineering team has determined that it’s a software issue. We expect this to be resolved within 12 to 24 hours. Meanwhile, you can simply leave your Skype client running and as soon as the issue is resolved, you will be logged in.
