I notice Robert Scoble talking about Skype (the Kazaa entry in the voip sweepstakes) in the context of business use.
I also noticed a news article about Cisco's IP telephone products -- including a (gulp) $1000 voip phone -- mentioning that they have sold 2 million voip phones. I would like to know who is buying these phones and how and why they are using them.
My general experience with over internet audio and video calls is that when they work they can work very well but when they fail they fail spectacularly, without warning and unpredictably. Without some sort of QoS feature for the internet I still think:
"The internet is a very hostile place for real time audio and video calling."
This flurry of discussion and information though makes me wonder if I am missing something.
