Whiteboard Woes for Microsoft

"A federal jury on Friday ordered Microsoft Corp. to pay $62.3 million in damages to a subsidiary of Charlotte-based SPX Corp. in a patent infringement lawsuit over conferencing technology." [MSNBC]

This is suit is based on infringements of patent in the NetMeeting Whiteboard feature. Microsoft is in the process of phasing out NetMeeting. Unfortunately though, the product being touted as replacement (Msn and Windows Messenger), also uses exactly the same feature.
