Poking around the Microsoft Research website, I stumbled upon a list of current downloads containing a whole raft of stuff for a project named ConferenceXP. The requirements for the products are pretty narrow (100Mbit Ethernet or better connections and only two specific video cards supported) so I am unlikely to be able to look at them even in play mode.
Anybody out there using/trying this stuff? Is this an active project at Microsoft or a shelved initiative?
It would seem that this might be the basis for future NetMeeting/Messenger/LiveMeeting real time video/audio/data conferencing products.
