31 `cant til ye cant' Ok we asked for it now we have it ... carte blanche to `cant til ye cant til ye cant til ye cant ...' Mark your calendars Saturday 03/08/30 7:30 til ..?? At Santosha Yoga Seattle 2812 E Madison Enter through courtyard, upstairs in the back of the building i hope you can all come on Saturday the 30th! Madhav is here from Vancouver (see eg a recent announcement on the SeaKir list) all Bumbershoot weekend. Several out of towners will make it, including some from Santa Cruz. It should be a high evening! Been a long time since we had weekly kirtan and quarterly `Cant til ye Cant's! In addition to Bumbershoot there are at least 3 other Kirtans that weekend and a Whidbey Island Dances of Universal Peace. So Seattle is the place to be. i expect we will have a chant in the round format with the puja table in the center and everyone getting an opportunity to contribute, and a dessert table! Let me know if you have suggestions or special needs or contributions. Bring your instruments, favorite chants you would like to lead (or request of the many master kirtaners) and perhaps some potluck dessert snacks to fuel us through the night! A poster is below. 30 So what is (a) SeaKir? Well it is a mailling list which aims to cooperatively keep its members informed of Kirtans in Seattle, or at least that was how a recent post to said list puts it ... along with embellishment, and raison for its establishment, as well as a dated laundry list of then current examples of such info bits. Of course the raison d' etre mentioned therein is entirely the fabrication of a mind, this bards. But what of the voyeurs, the cocontributors, the leeches and just plain interested folk who happen upon the meme? Does the meme change in other minds? Well there is the comment form below;-) And the mailling list itself... The ways to define a SeaKir are limited only by the seekers. Yet in that mirroring there is also an unverbalizeable unity that keeps us here, for the moment. Enchanting on a quest, listening until we have what we seek. That raison d' etre is also mentioned in its business card's (above) motto: `cant til ye cant' Find endless opportunities to engage in the noble nectar of tone - The Kirtan. None of us can own the tone. Though we have our favorites, the expositors, cataloguers, practitioners, groupees ... it is just the tangled reverberating web we weave mirroring these thoughts, rePsychling these sounds, which allow us, all of us, to be SeaKirs constantly rebuilding the fundamental buzz of our miracle. 3~'~E 6:29:01 PM     comments [] / trackback []
