OS X Security Update fixes Screen Effects vulnerability. Apple on Monday released Security Update 2003-07-14, available for download through the Software Update system preferences pane in Mac OS X. The 1.7MB update "addresses a potential vulnerability when a password is required upon waking from the Screen Effects feature, which could allow an unauthorized user access to the desktop of the logged in user," according to Apple. This fixes the problem recently discussed on BugTraq, which sure enough will give you local access when the screen was locked with a password.
