New List- Printers I Won't Buy

Nice article talking about the business plan of the printer manufacturing industry and why cartridges cost so much money. Also an interesting section about Lexmark who used the DMCA to shut out competitors from selling compatible replacement cartridges. Fine for them, but i will make my choice to not buy them, for fear of monopolistic pricing and lack of support. It even suggested that some printers are sold at a loss, in order to get you in the model and then have to buy the cartidges. Have we reached the disposable printer price level yet?

Why Do Ink Cartridges Cost So Much?. Consumers revolt over the cost of inkjet cartridges, even as printer prices plummet. [PCWorld.com - Latest News Stories]
