Started today out with Doughnuts fo Dads at Mike's school. After we ate, Mike presented me with a customized tie to wear, although he ended up wearing it the rest of the day.

Headed out to find the Charleston Tea Plantation on Wadmalaw Island. Nice drive out and then field of tea plants. Went through the 15-20 minute video tour which takes you along various points of the tea making process in their building. After that, picked up some tea (and a tshirt for the collection) and walked around a bit to see the various fields and samples of the cloning process for expanding the fields.

Drove out and looked for the nearby Winery that the tour guide had mentioned. Looked like it might be off-season but marked it on GPS for a return.

Headed back and went by Charleston County Parks and Rec Dept HQ to see about a Gold Pass and sign up for the Carolina Rice program on March 11. Should be interesting as some of my ancestors helped develop the rice processing equipment used locally (Jonathan Lucas). After picking up some other brochures, went by James Island Country Park (almost next door) and took a peek around. Its usually dark when we go (Festival of Lights), so thought I would see it in the daytime.

Back home to get lined up with events for later and the hockey game tonight.
