3rd fastest using G5s and Infiniband
Virginia Tech Supercomputer Is World[base ']s Third Fastest. Confirming that the Virginia Tech supercomputer built from 1,100 Power Mac G5 computers ranks as the third fastest supercomputer in the world, the List of Top 500 Supercomputers web site writes, [base "]The third system ever to exceed the 10 TFflop/s mark is Virgina Tech[base ']s X Cluster Institute measured at 10.28 TFlop/s.
