On the Radio with Steve Crowley's American Scene this morningWe had another fine radio show with Steve. Very short it seems but it's always fun. Today I lined up a few interesting topics, among which was a short promo for the new Apple G5 Power Mac. I don't have one. And that's a shame. The G5 with Dual processors is the first PC I've really wanted to buy since I bought my last Dell a year ago (my, that sounds like a long time). You have to look at this beautiful piece of work. The introduction video and the switch to pages are compelling. Yes, I'm still a Windows user - I have '98, 2000, and XP pro on our machines. And with all those I don't feel satisfied. I don't know how long it might take to convert me (partially or wholly) to Mac, but for the first time, I'm interested. The Unix based OS X is boss. The partnership of Apple and IBM on this machine is more than intriguing. It's very possible we may be seeing a competitor take on MS and win. I'd love to see it happen. I don't dislike MS. I just believe there are some great alternatives which are poised to become real players in the market. Apple has been, wants to be, and now I think MAC IS BACK. 10:31:46 PM |
