U.N. World Conference on Disaster Reduction in Kobe bows to pressure from U.S., oil producing countries and other nations and guts outcome document removing most references to "climate change." EU and Bangladesh had led fight to heavily link global warming to increase in disasters. Conference also does not adopt, as many NGO's had demanded, numerical targets for reducing the number of deaths in the next 10 years caused by disasters.
