Japan-Election Preview Japan goes to the polls Sunday in a national parliamentary election that could see the highest voter turnout in decades. The prime minister, proclaiming himself a modern-day daimyo has dispatched "assassins" and "lipstick ninjas" to send to the political graveyard LDP rebels who want to topple Koizumi and his postal reform project. Rebels call Koizumi a "dictator" with one former ally of the prime minister saying he is "worse than Adolf Hitler" because Koizumi wants to send the defectors to the "political gas chamber." 2005.09.07
