12/6/03 Happy Holidays! Had the MOST wonderful Thanksgiving with all the children home and our traditional 4-family feast, 27 in all, and topped off the weekend with "The Lion King" (such incredible costumes!!) Even Dad, at 85, loved it.

Yesterday had to take care of some medical business - an ultrasound of the hepatic (liver) vein. A spot had shown up on my last CAT scan, and neither Dr. Barton nor Dr. Tsarwhas was teribbly concerned, but felt it deserved a closer look (EVERYthing shows up on CAT scans, and sometimes things just disappear on further exploration.) So this was my first visit to the Good Shepherd Hospital radiology. It was very pleasant and I was even able to stop in and say "hi" to our friend, Karen Lambert, the CE of the hospital. I actually had to have the test twice. Two technicians, and then they called in the radiologist. Why? Because they couldn't find anything!! In the words of Martha, "It's a good thing." Monday morning I go back for an MRI of my eyes - just so that we have a good baseline picture post-radiation. One more visit with Dr. Ahmad at Loyola just before the end of the year. My eye seems better to me - it can still feel very irritated, but the swelling of the eyelid seems to be a tad better, and most days I am not so completely aware of my eye as I have been, which means it is bothering me less. Over and out!   8:42:08 AM  permalink
